25% Of Covid-19 Cases In Malta Are Foreign Students

Malta has recorded over 2000 cases of Covid-19 in recent weeks, around 500 of which being foreign students that came to study in Malta’s language schools. Positive foreign students have also contributed to the fact that roughly 60% of daily cases are non-residents.

Many students still find themselves in Malta despite the language school closures, with several in quarantine.

The authorities are still organising repatriation flights but have not yet clarified who will foot the bill for the trips, when the students will be repatriated, or if this applies to quarantined students who test negative for coronavirus.

What do you think of how the situation is being handled?
