Austrian Ex-Fianance Minister Gets Jailed For 8 Years Following Major Corruption Scandal


The former Austrian finance minister, Karl-Heinz Grasser, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for his role in a high-profile corruption scandal.


Grasser was found guilty on Friday of embezzlement, receiving bribes and falsification of evidence


Grasser was involved in kickbacks of more than €9 million (£8.1m). He denies wrongdoing and promised to appeal the ruling.
