The government has signed off management of the Miżieb and Aħrax woodlands in Mellieħa to the hunters' lobby group in a private event which took place this Friday.
The official ceremony was planned to happen on Sunday, but the government brought forward the signing to this Friday, without issuing a press call and without making the event public
The proposal was met with public outrage and an organized protest on site at the end of the weekend.
But it seems as though rather than facing the public, they decided to have the agreement signed behind closed doors where they may be sheltered from the public outcry.
The ministers Ian Borg, Aaron Farrugia, Clint Camilleri and Parliamentary Secretary Chris Agius are the politicians who attended the covert signing.
