Former prime minister Joseph Muscat claimed before the public inquiry last Friday that journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia was killed when she had become irrelevant.
"Caruana Galizia was killed when she became irrelevant to all, to the government and the opposition. And I know her family won’t like this. But it’s mind boggling! Whoever did this crime is stupid!"
However, Paul Caruana Galizia, Daphne’s son, has disputed the claim, stating that readership on his mother’s blog was at its peak at the time she was killed.
