Senglea Athletic defender Andrè Scicluna has categorically denied allegations that he passed any racist remarks towards Birkirkara forward Paul Mbong during a Premier League clash at the National Stadium.
While Scicluna admits he got physical, he denies ever using racially abusive language against Mbong. Scicluna stated that:
"It is absolutely unacceptable that circumstances surrounding this incident have been twisted to portray a totally different picture to what actually happened, in an attempt to diminish a persons own wrongdoing, or somehow justify it, whilst irresponsibly attempting to tarnish another person's reputation"
Malta FA have now decided to kick off an investigation into the incident, formally asking its Ethics and Integrity Committee to look into the case.
