Serbian Man Arrested Following Armed Standoff And Exchange Of Fire With Police


Gunshots erupted last night as police arrested a Serbian man, considered to be dangerous, following a delicate 6 hour operation.


The incident kicked off at around 7.30pm when the aggressor began damaging neighbours’ property, allegedly smashing a car window.


When police arrived on the scene the Serbian man, who is around 35 years old, began threatening the police with knives as well as a gun.


The man also had pitbulls with him who were shot with tranquilizer guns by officials from the Department of Animal Welfare.


Officers were stationed outside the residence until 2am and after successful negotiations deescalated the situation, arresting the Serbian man.
