Malta Is Set To Experience Another Heatwave In The Coming Days

Temperatures are expected to rise over the coming days as the Met Office warns of more Sahara Desert heat heading towards Malta.

A heatwave is classified by three successive days in which temperatures of added five degrees more than the normal are recorded. Current temperatures are lower than the average for this time of year, standing at 33 degrees Celsius, meaning that average temperatures of around 38 degrees Celsius are to be expected.

Malta was hit by another heatwave only last month, with the Met Office recording the hottest ever June day since records began: a temperature of 41.5 degrees Celsius on the 19th of June.
