A special effort was made by the Lija Athletic Football Club to celebrate their longest-serving supporter Carmel Diedo on his birthday.
“Id-Dajdu”, now 82 years old, was visited by club members and was gifted a match-worn player jersey, commemorating his almost 70 years of support for Lija Athletic.
Fellow fans continued celebrating Carmel’s birthday and showed their support in the comments of Lija Athletic’s Facebook post, many labelling him as a "legend and gentleman."
