Almost 40 days ago, health minister Chris Fearne hosted an emergency press conference to announce that a 5-year-old girl had passed away while ‘mildly positive’ with COVID-19.
The girl was running a fever and had to be put on a ventilator and given CPR before she ultimately succumbed to her condition.
An inquiry was launched into the matter to establish the precise cause of death of the young girl.
More than a month later, the inquiry is not yet finalised, and the Health Ministry does not have a copy of the final report. The young girl’s exact cause of death remains unknown.
